Liz

Liz is President and co-founder of the Marco Shemwell Foundation, and has attended Calvary with her husband, Ben, since moving to Winchester in 2006. She has an affinity for coffee, leggings, and oversized hoodies, and is mom to three boys: Maximo, Marco, and Macrae. After the tragic loss of four-year-old son, Marco, God placed an unshakeable calling on her heart to leave a career in healthcare in order to pursue ministry. Since taking that step, she has become an avid writer and speaker, using her story as an opportunity to share the truth of the gospel and the hope we have in Jesus. Liz serves on our small group leadership team, and leads Wednesday women’s group, and SALT group for young adults. She is a mentor and frequent guest preacher at our youth service. Holding a B.S. in Psychology and Master’s in Health Administration, Liz is also a certified Enneagram coach (YEC) currently working toward certification in pastoral counseling. She seeks to live out 2 Corinthians 1:4 by comforting others with the comfort she has received from God, and in doing so hopes to help others fully become who God created them to be. Her life verse is Genesis 50:20 which states, “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.”
