What We Believe
We believe in ONE God who is three persons: the FATHER, the SON, & the HOLY SPIRIT.
We believe that God is the creator and sustainer of ALL things.
We believe in Jesus Christ, God's only Son and the Savior of the World.
- He was conceived of the Holy Spirit
- He was born of a virgin
- He died, was buried, and rose again
- He ascended into heaven to be with His Father
- He will return to judge all mankind
We believe in the Holy Spirit. He is one aspect of the triune nature of God.
- He convicts of sin, comforts, counsels, reedems, and seals
- He indwells every believer
- He empowers Christians for works of service
- He enables us to live Christ-like lives
We believe in the Bible. It is God's Holy Word...without error in it's original form and inspired by the Holy Spirit. We accept the Bible as the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.
We believe that man, created by God, willfully sinned. As a result, he is lost and without hope apart from Jesus Christ.
We believe that salvation and the forgiveness of sins comes by grace through faith in Jesus Christ...because of his blood that was shed as payment for our sins.
We believe that the Bible teaches that our faith should move us to repsonse. When we come to believe that Jesus is God's son and the savior of the world, we are moved to repent of personal sin - to confess Jesus as Lord of our lives - and to submit to the Biblical command of baptism. It is not our position that the mere act of baptism itself possesses any power to "save" a person, but rather that through baptism we personally identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Romans 6). We believe that it should be the normal practice of those who believe in Jesus as their savior to be immersed in baptism.
We believe that the church is the body and bride of Christ, founded on the day of Pentecost, consisting of all Christians everywhere. Therefore we do not claim to be the ONLY Christians - but we are Christians only.
We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each person. When Jesus returns He will formally pronounce the eternal fate of each individual, both the living and the dead. The saved will be assigned eternal life with God in heaven - the unsaved will suffer eternal separation from God in Hell.
